Hendrick's Gin – It’s not for everyone, but it’s for me.

Hendrick's Gin Bottle

“My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose.”

While Hendrick's Gin is targeted toward bartender’s due to it’s mixability in cocktails, there is a tenderness of feminineness, floral and fun.”

Hendrick's Gin gives bartender’s what they have always been craving, a way to get people to drink gin in a creative way. This is done by providing odd ball ingrediants such as cubeb berries, elderflower, chamomile, meadowsweet, rose petal, cucumber, and caraway seed. What make’s Hendrick's Gin so unique is that these ingredients are often unheard of in any other formal setting, and one would have to go out on a limb to resemble anything even close.

The bottle is so out there with the black onyx shell, to hide the light, that one must wonder what secrets like beneath. It’s like the mysterious Kraken shell hiding treasure of wonderment that has swallowed ships and men alike. Once the cork is twisted off, you have the ability to notice a pleasant popping of the cork to congratulate you on a job well done.

Hendrick's Gin refer’s to itself as the “Most Iconoclastic Gin”, and to that I say “Amen.”

Smelling Hendrick's Gin always reminds me of Poison Ivy from the Batman Comics. A strange seduction, you don’t know if you are suppose to play hard to get or just dive right in. It’s unusual enough to confuse you, but reassuring enough to comfort you.

The Taste has so much going on, that it’s a beautiful thing, lending it’s dream to cocktails yet to be discovered. Think of yourself as a Mad scientist wanting your next creation to come alive, and you just need the secret formula to make that happen.

For me, Hendrick's Gin goes best with a dinner party, sitting out side on the patio, drinking a mixture of Hendrick's Gin, White Cranberry Juice, and Cucumber infused simple syrup.

  1. Had a Hendricks and tonic last month while out with my wife. I really enjoyed it. Enjoyed it enough to go pick up a bottle . But, I was a little surprised by the price.

  2. I really like the uniqueness of Hendrick’s. Personally I found the rose petals to be more prominent in the aroma while the cucumber came forth during tasting. While it’s very interesting on it’s own I thought it was less exciting in a GT (it was still good but not as good as some other GTs I’ve had). Now I have to try it in some other cocktails, it seems like it could generate som great results.
